| Development Control Team Our Development Control Team deals with all the proposals for new development within Newark and Sherwood. We deal with about 1500 planning applications each year in addition to Listed Building, Conservation Area and advertisement consents.
You can search for applications online by using our e-planning website (external link). Alternatively you can look at our weekly lists to find out which application has recently been submitted.
We have information here about how to apply for permission, how we deal with applications, how to make comments on an application and what happens at Planning Committee.
You can also look at our weekly decision lists to see which applications have recently had a decision.
We can also give you advice about whether you need planning permission for any changes you may be making to your home.
If you do need planning permission we can give you advice about the proposal before you submit your application to help the application process run more smoothly. This is known as pre-application advice. We can tell you what information you will need to submit with the application and give you an informal opinion of how successful we think your application will be.
We also deal with about 60 appeals each year when we have refused planning permission for proposals. You can also make an appeal (external link) or view appeal information online.
We can also give advice on any conditions which we may have attached to the decision or any amendments you may want to make after your application has been approved.
